Ok first off this isn't a signup thread yet, right now it's just an announcement thread. I'm working on getting a forum/site up hopefully no later then Tuesday at which time Signups will be open.

I've decided to do an nr03 offline version of "The Granddaddy of Them All", it will be run the 2nd week of August (3 weeks from now) using a BGN physics version of the Supersprint mod and one of the Knoxville tracks (still not sure yet, gotta do some more testing).

I'm shooting for a realistic number of entries (60 to 80), with a 3 car per team cap. (I'm posting this on a few different websites so hopefully I get a decent turnout). Numbers can be anything from 000 to 999, I'm fine with letters being involved (16x or F-16 for example), but due to NR2003s scoring system your car will actually have to have a three digit number (mandatory 3 digit number for all "lettered" number cars (16x or F-16 would be 016 for example). Cars must have drivers last name across the leading edge of the upper wing. Sponsors are open, multiple cars can have the same sponsor blah blah blah...

The event format is still TBD but I'm thinking a 4 day event.

Day 1:
-- Time Trials will be in groups of 30 (may be adjusted to avoid un-needed session), your group will be determined via random draw after signups are closed (gonna say August 4th).

-- Top two qualifiers (two fastest out of all qualifying sessions) are locked into the A-main for the 3rd day (the big race)

-- Qualifying points are awarded starting at 200 & going down by 2 for all drivers

Day 2:
-- Time trials determine the lineup for the Day 2 Mains (E, D, C, B, A... more if needed, not sure of seeding system yet though). I'm shooting for 16 people per Main on day 1, top 12 fasted qualifiers are locked into A main, top 2 finishers from E, D & C main advance into next main, top 4 finishers from B main advance into A main.

-- Points are awarded based on the higher main you get into the more points you get, transfer positions get no points until end of their final main. Point system starts at 200 & goes down by 2

-- All mains starting order set by random draw, except for Transfer spots who start tail-end.

Day 3:
-- Series of mains based on reverse points (meaning, highest points from previous days get put into last mains)

-- 12 lowest in points are locked into A-main, Top 4 from B-main transfer to A main, top two from other mains transfer up to next main.

-- Same points system as mentioned above.

-- Hopefully this days format will keep the points close

-- All mains starting order set by random draw, except for Transfer spots who start tail-end.

Day 4:

-- Series of mains set by points, lowest in points are in lowest mains.

-- Fastest two qualifiers from Day 1 are locked into A-main regardless of their points so far, they start P1 & P2. Hoping for 26 cars in A-main with 22 being locked in via points, and 4 transferring out of the B-main. Same transfer system as previous days.

-- Same points system.

-- All mains starting order set by random draw, except for Transfer spots who start tail-end.

-- Highest person in points is the Champion

Like I said the format is still TBD, so that may change a bit.

Weather will be the default 60, Sunny, no wind.
AI% will be 100%
Cars will be rated 75 - 85

The real Nationals run from August 11-14, these will probably be run from the 10th to 13th (got local track stuff on that Saturday the 14th), maybe a day or two earlier or later, Signups will open in a day or so once I get the site/forum up (please no signups in this thread), cars are due by August 7th. No crews are required although if you want to that's fine. Will accept, JPG, TGA, or Carfile.

More info will be posted on the site/forums once I get it up, and I'll add the link to this thread once it's up.

Hopefully if this works out I might do some other bigger races (ROC @ Oswego, Showdown @ Irwindale, etc) although that's not a promise let's just get through this one first... l0l.

Ok I got the site up. As of now it's still a major WIP.
